The TLVA Annual Meeting will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2026 at 7 PM at the Dublin Community Center (685 Union Lake Rd, White Lake, MI 48383).

 

 

Aqua-Weed came to assess the lakes and river for invasive weeds on 7/23. They will post signs on 7/31 and treat Tull Lake, Little Tull Lake, and the river on 8/3.

 

 

Aqua-Weed came to assess the lake for invasive weeds on 6/12, and found that the weeds are up all around the main lake. They will post signs on 6/17 and treat the lake on 6/18.

 

 

Aqua-Weed will be on the lake this morning. They did not post signs in every yard. Only the yards in the areas being treated. (link to map below) If you don't live in an area being treated, it is not dangerous to be in the water, just not recommended.

 

Since this spring has been cold, we do not have as much invasive weed growth at this time. Aqua-Weed will do 1 small treatment (now) and 2 larger ones in the weeks to come as it warms up and the invasive weeds start to grow.

Aqua-Weed will put up signs on Wednesday, May 27 and will treat Big Tull, Little Tull and the river on Thursday, May 28. It is not required to refrain from boating. However, giving the chemicals 24 hours to settle where they are sprayed is beneficial. The yard sign posting will provide all of the information on chemicals used and restrictions (if any).

 

 

Aquaweed will be on the lake today to survey the water before treating next week.

 

The lake will be getting treated again next week. Signs should get put up in our yards on Aug. 15.

Overall the lake looks good. There is some milfoil, naiads, and Sago Pondweed starting to come up.

 

Big Tull
Weeds - 18 acres = $4,320
Algae - SeClear (binds phosphorus and water quality enhancement) – 33 acres = $10,725

Little Tull and Huron
7.5 acres = $1800

 

This is the second and last treatment of the lake this year and we stayed with our 30k budget.

 

Both lakes were treated by Aquaweed for weeds as planned. This year, because we saw an early build-up of algae, the big lake was also treated for that. Aquaweed stated that it is very early to see an algae bloom especially without much heat. They felt that this was possibly caused by runoff from water into the Huron River and from our lawns. We have started using the non-river pump as much as possible and we want to remind you to use environmentally friendly fertilizer on your lawns and do not fertilize within 20 feet of the shoreline.

There have been numerous concerns about recycling debris being displaced on windy days. Priority waste is offering the purchase of a 65 Gallon recycling cart (with lid) for $65 which would be yours to keep. Due to high demand, your cart purchase may take up to 6 weeks for delivery. 

 

 

 

Yard Waste 2026 pick up will be from April 1, 2026 thru December 5, 2026.

 

Composting is done by a separate truck on the same day. Yard waste is defined as leaves, lawn cuttings, shrub/tree trimmings and the like.  Place into biodegradable bags or containers of 35 gallons or less. We enforce a weight limit of 50 pounds.

 

Brush and Limbs can be picked up throughout the year. Make sure if greater than 2 inches in diameter they must be in bundles no longer than 4 feet in length and not exceed a total of 18 inches in diameter.

Restorative Lake Sciences (RLS) was out on Tuesday, May 14th for the 2024 lake scan & evaluation of Tull Lake #1 and Tull Lake #2. They also collected water samples from each lake.
 
The preliminary analysis from RLS showed two types of invasive weeds in Tull Lake #2.  They found approximately 42 acres of Curl-Leaf Pondweed and 1 acre of Eurasian Watermilfoil. There were no invasive weeds found in Tull lake #1. The clarity of the water has improved since evaluation in June 2023.

The Eurasian Watermilfoil is the invasive plant that we have had for many years.  The Watermilfoil was aggressively treated in June of 2022 with a systemic treatment, Triclopyr. As a result of the June 2022 treatment, there was no Watermilfoil observed in 2023.
 
The treatment recommendation from RLS for early June is to treat with Diquat for the Curly-Leaf Pondweed and with ProcellaCOR for the Eurasian Watermilfoil.

The three deed restriction proposals did not receive sufficient yes votes to be approved. In order for an amendment to pass it must receive a yes vote from a minimum of 60% of the homes in TLIA.  If there are homes with two owners, both must approve to allow a yes vote for that lot.

 

Results:

1. Revise General Provisions (A) to remove the auto-renew provision: 
Yes: 12.5%. No: 8.48% No Response: 79.02%

2. Revise General Provisions (E) regarding signs:

Yes: 10.71% No: 8.93% No Response: 80.36%

3. Implement the assessment of fines for violation of the deed restrictions: 

Yes: 8.93% No: 8.48% No Response: 82.59%

Residents, this is a reminder that ANY and ALL exterior updates, upgrades, and renovations to your home and property MUST be submitted to the Architectural Committee for approval. This is clearly stated in your Deed Restrictions.
